Vassy

Her name is Vassy, an exotic, dark-haired beauty of Mediterranean heritage. Born and raised in the tropics of Australia which influenced and bred her creative versatility and unusual, engaging sound. Vassy celebrates her individuality through her music. Whether it's pop, rock, EDM, indie, dance, neo-soul or Billie-inspired jazz, Vassy learned early on it was better to stand out rather than play it safe. At seven-year's old she was kicked out of school choir for singing her own melodies and not following along with the other kids. 'My voice stood out in the crowd, and I wanted everyone to hear it," she explains. 'I have never been one to follow the pack. I've been a loner all my life with my own ambitions." Those ambitions led to leaving her family, Australia and the comforts of home to pursue her music dreams in America. Today, she calls Los Angeles homebase.

Vassy is an accomplished singer, songwriter, musician and producer. You have heard her distinctive voice and talents on global adverts with sultry songs like 'Desire" and the quirky 'Wanna Fly" for Hilton Hotels, Chevrolet, Victoria's Secret, Sketchers, Google and Diet Sprite to hit video games and TV shows like 'Grey's Anatomy', 'Human Target, 'Ugly Betty,' 'The Sims' and FIFA 08.

Vassy's #1 hit, 'We Are Young" has been featured in the trailer for Disney's Oscar-winning film,'Frozen," selected as the theme for a video music award show in Athens and featured in an ongoing ad campaign for Target. Vassy closed out 2013 with 'Mad," a Top 5 hit on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play Top 5 chart with hit maker, Dave Audé and scored a #1 Beatport club banger with Crazibiza called 'Hustlin'."

In addition to creating hits for herself, Vassy has written songs and collaborated with various artists around the globe. Among them, The Cataracts, Carmen Electra (her new single and video,'Werq"), Bob Sinclar, 2013 Grammy nominees Sultan and Ned Sheperd, Paris Hilton, Ivan Gomez and Nacho Chapado, The Pussycat Dolls' Jessica Sutta, t.A.T.u.'s Lena Katina, Joachim Garraud, Nancy Logan, AfroJack and Tokyo Boys.

This Winter, Vassy scored yet another #1 on Beatport with David Guetta and Showtek and the smash EDM rebel anthem, 'Bad!" She also saw the release of 'Swagger Right" for electro champs Manufactured Superstars as well as stylish single and video offerings with Spain's Victor and Juan Magan ('Spotlight") and Greece's Mark Angelo ('Miss Automatic"). Vassy is currently prepping a brand new compilation of her hits, an album of originals and a special Summer single re-release of 'Hustlin" for her own Kiss My Vassy label imprint sporting new mixes and colorful videoclip featuring the song's inspiration, Crystal Waters!

Known for her philanthropy work with charity groups and an advocate for civil rights, Vassy is proudly affiliated with various foundations around the world. She is an active ambassador for the NOH8 campaign (an anti-discrimination association that supports equal rights for all human kind), a spokesperson for Green IT (a campaign to help educate people on how to protect the environment), works with Studio Samuel Foundation helping girls in Ethiopia and supports Playground of Dreams which encourages youth to transform their dreams into reality by fostering creativity, confidence and unique purpose in the world. Vassy also volunteers and teaches music workshops at AVIVA, a teenage safe house and orphanage for girls in Los Angeles.

Additionally, Greek America's 'Forty Under 40′ just welcomed Vassy to their esteemed Class of 2014 inductees.
